James Ashworth is leaving the editorship of The Tides of Time to take up a new challenge – editor of the Doctor Who Appreciation Society’s main publication, Celestial Toyroom. Celestial Toyroom – widely known by the abbreviation CT – is the oldest continuously published Doctor Who publication in the world, first appearing in 1976.
James joins a distinguished list of CT editors. Previous holders of the role have included well-known names from the worlds of Doctor Who, including Keith Barnfather, Gary Russell, Dominic May, Brian J. Robb, Karen Davies, Tony Jordan, Grant Bull and Rik Moran.
James’s first issue of CT will appear in the autumn. Before then, his final issue of The Tides of Time, number 49, has just been published. Initial orders can be made via this form, until 16 June 2023.
The Oxford Doctor Who Society will announce the identity of the new editor of The Tides of Time in due course. It’s a bit like announcing a new Doctor, except without a cute social media campaign, and I’m not sure how to use emojis in WordPress anyway.
